The video wall in the Studio 4 of public broadcaster RTBF – which was also installed by Solufak - needed replacing. In this studio, where the video wall occupies a prominent place in the image for the viewer at home, high image quality is obviously primordial.
Challenge for the Solufak team: offer professional screens with the latest image technology that would fit into the existing, very specific mounting structure that allows the RTBF to form either one large video wall or 5 mobile walls. Approach
In a product shoot-out, SharpNEC was finally selected. Their MultiSync® UN552V fully met the specific technical requirements. Featuring a minimal 3.5 mm bezel these display modules create impressive high resolution video walls with barely visible image gaps. At a high brightness level of 500 cd/m² your message will be well received with effortless readability even in the brightest ambient light conditions. An advanced set of intelligent features make the displays easy to install and operate and support significantly reduced maintenance requirements. Lifelike and consistent colour reproduction is guaranteed with IPS panel technology, the top choice when it comes to colour consistency. The S-IPS panel ensures that perfect visibility is maintained in landscape and portrait mode and at extreme viewing angles.
39 SharpNEC MultiSync® UN552V displays were mounted in the existing support structure resulting in a video wall measuring 15.73m wide and 2.05m high. This structure can be divided into multiple videowalls enabling to create different configurations in the studio.
In order to facilitate maintenance and ensure a hot-swap, PFW 6880 push/pull brackets from Vogel's were added to the structure. As the screens are in a curved arrangement, there is little to no margin on the thickness of the whole setting, so maintaining the existing dimensions had to be guaranteed. I order to do so, Solufak created a customized adapter.
